To act for choice: the struggle for abortion, reproductive rights and parenthood in the far-right era

Panel debate
Thursday, November 6

15h – 17.30h
Morion

Reproductive and health care rights in Italy are being strongly attacked by far-right forces that seek to hegemonize the concepts of “life-defenders” and the “traditional families” whilst cutting on social and welfare measures that are worsening life conditions for large portions of society. Feminist collectives have been responding through various forms of grassroots organizing, from networks of mutual aid to social mobilizations.
What are the challenges, the limits and the opportunities of reproductive rights’ mutualism in the face of the systemic government’s failures and its attacks on reproductive and healthcare rights?
As feminist and social justice movements, how do we enforce and intersect our actions and mobilizing efforts?
