Rete Arcipelago is a collective initiative dedicated to the cultural production of new relational imaginaries in the city of Venice.
The goal of Rete Arcipelago is to bring decolonial and eco-feminist perspectives into the debate about Venice and its contemporary problems. These perspectives can foster the creation of new paradigms of interaction between the different communities living together in the city.
Rete Arcipelago’s proposal to serve as an incubator for artistic and curatorial projects offers a space to experiment and develop ideas that can contribute to greater social and environmental justice.
Through events, workshops, exhibitions, and collaborations with artists, researchers, and activists, Rete Arcipelago strives to stimulate reflections and actions that highlight the complexities of human identities and relationships, as well as the delicate ecological balance of the lagoon.
Rete Arcipelago represents a collective initiative that—across diverse forms and perspectives—aims to weave together the stories and voices of Venice with the culture of the sea and lagoon, using these narratives as tools to inspire deep reflection on ecological and feminist issues. The proposal to explore the “re-signification” of our relationship with the territory is a crucial step toward building an aware and active community. Its vision of collective and eco-sustainable interaction is essential to addressing the contemporary challenges facing the city, including climate change, gentrification, and loss of cultural identity.
Rete Arcipelago will lead the workshop Queer Sea Marriage with Benedetta Panisson, which will take place on November 10 at CREA Cantieri del Contemporaneo.
