A dancer/choreographer and dance teacher, Marianna trained in ballet, contemporary dance and Indian dance-theater after many years of training between Italy, the UK and India (at Kalakshetra Academy). She furthered her training at The Place School of Contemporary Dance in London, where she started her professional career as dancer (2000-2012). She has presented performances in Italy, Europe and India at prestigious theaters and festivals, both as a soloist and in productions with dance companies. Her artistic collaborations with internationally renowned dancers have been frequent and significant. Since 2011, she has been Director of Gamaka, an association that operates nationwide in the areas of production and promotion of the performing arts, with a specific focus on Indian performative traditions and intercultural dialogue. As Artistic Director of Gamaka, she curated the programming of festivals featuring internationally renowned artists. Over the years she has gained significant professional experience in the organisation of live performances and cultural events. From 2012 to 2015 she is Artistic Director of the Natyakala Festival, a performing arts festival presented in Venice and promoted by important cultural institutions. Since 2007 she collaborates with FAD Alain Danielou Foundation, organizing festivals and cultural events. Since 2013 she works as artistic programming assistant and coordinator at the Summer Mela Festival (2013-2024), an international arts festival held annually in the city of Rome with the support of prestigious institutions. She has collaborated with high-profile cultural organizations and institutions, such as: Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, University of Padua, FIND India-Europe Foundation for New Dialogues, Cini Foundation, Resetdoc Dialogues on civilization, Conservatory of Music of Venice, Conservatory of Music of Vicenza, Embassy of India in Rome, Comune di Venezia and Comune di Padova.
