Letizia Tortello is a journalist and deputy head of the Foreign Desk at La Stampa. She has reported from war zones and conflict areas and covers German affairs, Europe, and the Balkans, among other topics. She authored Goodbye Merkel, perché per 16 anni ha comandato lei (Edizioni del Capricorno). She won the Mimmo Candito Award with her reportage, “At the Roots of Patriarchy: In Morocco, the ‘Shame’ of Being a Woman”, published in La Stampa.
