Tocia! Cucina e comunità is an experimental platform, active in the Venetian lagoon area, which aims to investigate the relationship between food, community and environment, opening windows of reflection on an anthropological, social and environmental level.
Founded by chef Marco Bravetti, Tocia! wants to question the short circuits that are structured around contemporary dichotomies, such as tourist – citizen, human – non-human, cultural – natural, starting from the device of food and the conviviality that is created around it. For this reason, Tocia! Develops and curates projects that intersect scientific, agricultural, artistic and cultural studies, where multidisciplinary knowledge meets for the same purpose. This is how projects such as Convivi Acquatici are structured, which questions the relationship between humans and aquatic space, or Supper Clash. Zuppe di lotta, which uses the device of soup to talk about conflicts and political incongruences.
On the occasion of the Transeuropa Festival, Tocia! Cucina e Comunità starts a dialogue with the researcher and author Chiara Spadaro, inspired by her book L’Arcipelago delle Api. Through a selection of tastings and a final dish, we will explore the fundamental role of bees – and other pollinating insects – in the conservation of the landscape and in the food chain that sustains us. The event will take place on Sunday at 12h, registration is mandatory and has a cost of 20 euros. REGISTER HERE.
