MWASI

Mwasi, the Afrofeminist collective founded in 2014, is part of the Black liberation struggle against our erasure as political subjects, with Black women at the core of its action. Our fight is for all Black women. To achieve this, we must address class and its gendered racialization, which makes the system strike even more violently at those of us who are struggling. Our Afrofeminism is a political and collective response to the racist, heteropatriarchal, and capitalist system. It draws on the history and legacy of Black women and feminists who have led liberation struggles, contributing significantly to feminist thought across France, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora. We stand for a combative Afrofeminism that aims for radical societal change through collective struggle.
