artISt: parcurs.ideal | video installation and online platform – launch event
The artISt: parcurs.ideal project developed by ColectivA Cluj Association together with the French partner company Nageurs de Nuit proposes to radiograph the labour market in the artistic field through a series of ways of exploring and documenting the artistic path that young theatre graduates in Romania could have from their university studies required to work in the theatre field.
It all started in 2010 with the documentary film made by Roxane Borgna, based on a series of interviews with 10 recent graduates of the Faculty of Theatre in Iasi. In 2023, Roxane returned to Romania and made 9 new interviews with the subjects of the first film, this time filming in Bucharest, Iasi, Timisoara and Cluj-Napoca.
ArtISt video installation and online platform: parcurs.ideal
The curatorial approach of the video installation aims at rediscovering characters who expressed their visions and desires for the future in 2010, being bearers of an objective truth – actors, directors or singers, artists in retraining. It reveals the elements of everyone’s reality, the observed and organised realities. The installation will also seek to reveal the places where we “find” these artists – in the theatre, with the touring team, an improvisational theatre group in a bar, the artist in the process of retraining in the countryside, thus demonstrating the variety of possibilities for a person’s development. The online platform centralises and mirrors the two paths of each artist, the one in 2010 against the one in 2023.
