Archival Ghosts – Feminist & Migration movement archive

A workshop for the ephemeral, the ever-moving, the endlessly transforming, colourful, elusive, and never merely alone: an archive made of clouds that can change the climate. One we will create by seeking out the stories that were left out -migrant, women’s, queer stories- and by deciding that everything that remained over, everything that was left behind, is our material.

What stories would we tell, and in what ways, if we listened to the subaltern? What language do ghosts speak, and might they, after all, keep us company?

What horizons open up the moment we refuse inherited taxonomies and instead call up, bring together, summon to action and to presence, to an assembly, a community and a collocation of ideas, peoples, things, spirits? A performative collective body that leaves no one and nothing behind. That is, when we open ourselves to the Creole art of Rasanblaj, an anti-colonial method for history and archiving, rooted in the struggles for freedom of the Black enslaved people who rose up in revolution in Haiti, 

This is what we want to explore at the Library of Equality and Gender together with the Roots Collective, and with the support of Dina Kafterani, an actor and facilitator, who will help us create the collective body.
