DESCRIPTIONS
Positively Different Short Film Festival Screening : Humanity Against The Technology of Violence. (90’)
When you are treated as non-human, as an intruder, as a sinner or cannon fodder, how do you keep your humanity alive? What can you do to try to survive technofascism and border violence? You might migrate to another country, making new connections on the way. To survive, you might need to make yourself less of a human: to smuggle yourself or fight at war. But when you face PTSD or you lose your identity and land, how do you reconnect with what was familiar beforehand? Is it even possible to build a continuation between your past life and now? You are not the same person anymore. You might need to seek a community with common experiences to finally be able to thrive in your entirety. But resilience has many different faces: feeding your neighbourhood, creating art, making the tradition evolve, leaving your family or going back to your family. All of the characters in these movies are deeply marked in their bodies by the modification of borders, by the political violence of people who decided this territory belongs to them and you can’t stay and thrive here. But they all try to keep their humanity alive.
